Debutante Patralekha and Rajkummar Rao move from their village in Rajasthan to Mumbai with hopes of a better life. Their hard luck, however, seems to be following in their footsteps. While Rajkummar is forced to help in black money laundering, Patralekha has to take up bar dancing in the city where "no one sleeps hungry".
The trailer showcases the deep bonds within a family and how that forces people to do things they otherwise would never do.
Gunshots, dim lights of pubs and helplessness - the first look promo of Citylights offers all of it. We hope the film lives up to its promise.
