Filmmakers Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar's long-in-the-planning film 'Badtameez Dil' was announced last year, but the film got delayed. But why?
The reason is the lead pair of the film, Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor opted out of the project.
But there's something new? What is it? Grapevine is that the much delayed film is back on its tracks and will soon hit the floor. Hmm! Seems like they couldn't miss their camaraderie in the industry and off it -- blame it on their great friendship and respect for each other.
The film is based on the novel 'Vanity Fair' and will be directed by debutante Akshay Roy. It is a story of two manipulative people who cross each other's path on their way up the social ladder.
We think the plan was to re-imagine the basic plot in the book, and now the script has gone through extensive development and tightening, and of course substantially Bollywoodised.
