The film is based on Vātsyāyana's Kama Sutra, an ancient Indian text in Sanskrit literature widely considered to be the noted work on human sexual behavior. The film is set in the backdrop of the real historical milieu, Kamasutra 3D is the journey of a soulful love embodied with betrayal and war. It weaves the transformative changes in body, mind and soul by the forbidden world of sexual love and sensuality. It is produced under the house of RPPL and is presented by G J Entertainments.
