Boulders, Rocks Suddenly Fall On Tourists Near Sonprayag On Kedarnath Route

Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand: A major accident occurred this morning near the Hanuman Barrier in the Sonprayag area of Rudraprayag district after boulders and stones suddenly fell from a hillside, trapping two people. One person died on the spot in the accident, while another sustained serious injuries. The injured person was rescued by SDRF and police personnel and taken to MRP Sonprayag for treatment. After primary medical care, the victim was referred to District Hospital Rudraprayag for further treatment.

District Disaster Management Officer, Nandan Singh Rajwar says, "At around 8 o'clock, there was a sudden sliding from the hill, in which two people got caught in it, one of whom was a local resident and the other a Nepali, who were taken to the nearest hospital, where the local person was declared dead..."
